I guess I got sidetracked. I’ve been trying and trying to get my site reorganized since I made the foolish move of switching from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. I built a complete site on .org, but had to dump it after a year when I got the [real] bill for a year’s hosting. I signed up with GoDaddy basically for free, not realizing after a year the cost would go up to over a $100 a year.
Oh well. Here’s a sample of my current iPad art work. This was an attempt to follow Aaronorg’s (on Procreate forums) workflow for creating watercolors in Procreate. It took me a couple of days just to understand what he was talking about, but he’s an extremely generous guy and posted everything I could possibly need to get started.
This was a 25-minute drawing at a Friday night open drawing session at the Palette and Chisel with Delong (I hope that’s the correct spelling), a great model.
For this picture, I worked from my car on what was obviously a much warmer day than this one. Today is Jan. 13th and its around 7 degrees Fahrenheit, too cold to do much more than try to finish some coffeeshop pictures. Who wouldn't want to be in a nice warm cafe on a gray overcast snowy day? Even though I could work out of my car, it's still not easy to find much color out there.
Here’s the finished painting! I really had a lot of fun painting this picture and I’m proud of the result. Now two weeks off and then another 5-week session. Michael wants the class to do a picture with a color scheme, so I’m working on finding objects. Right now it’s going to be rose and green as the dominant colors, but we’ll see.
Apologies for not posting for awhile–I’ve been busy. I’ll put some color studies I’ve been doing up tomorrow.
